Well. I don't know where to begin. Life has been chaotic here for the past few weeks, so I must apologize for not keeping everyone up to date.
As mentioned in my previous post, mystic's eggs were infertile. Tweety's eggs did not hatch; if I had to guess I would say it was due to the lack of humidity in the nest box.
But, we do have a little good news. Tango and ChaCha have 3 eggs that are fertile, so cross your fingers that they hatch!
In other more serious news, we have decided that it would be in both my and the birds' best interest to take a hiatus from breeding. Tango and Chacha's clutch will be the last that I breed for the foreseeable future. Between college, work, and summer internships and jobs I simply do not have the time to dedicate to hand feeding babies. This decision has been reached after months of debate, and a great deal of heartbreak. As a result, I have several breeders, nest boxes and cages for sale. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected]
-Mr. Lola- whiteface split pied male, 3 years old. unproven. not very friendly. available immediately. Asking $40
-Chacha- won't be available until mid June. Lutino pied female, 3 years old. not friendly. proven breeder, lays sits and feeds until babies are pulled. asking $100.
Tweety and sylvester- lutino pied female and pied split to cinnamon lutino pearl male. 4 years old. bonded pair, MUST go together. they are prolific breeders and will lay sit and feed, BUT the hen will pluck the babies when their pins come in. She doesn't injure them, but it makes them look unsightly so you will either have to foster the babies or hold them until their feathers grow back (about 4 months old). They were tame before becoming breeders, and with a little work they could easily be pets again. Asking $100.
2 cockatiel nest boxes- fair shape. the perches are chewed but they're solid and clean. $5 each.
2 large double cages- one vertical and one horizontal with divider. The vertical is HEAVY and you will need a truck/suv to transport. Excellent shape, no rust or damage. comes with 2 large perches per cage. $120 OBO. Horizontal cage is slightly smaller. comes with a stand. The screws on the outside (by the stand) are slightly rusty, but the birds cannot reach them. asking $100 OBO.
I'm willing to do package deals with multiple birds or cages. the cages are not available until the breeders are sold!
